About Us

The Healing Place Church: St. Clair exists to follow Christ, loving and serving God and others.

We believe that going to church isn’t the goal – being His Church is. We strive to empower believers to chase after Jesus, living their faith inside and outside the walls of our campus, impacting each person they come in contact with for the glory of God along the way.

Meet the team.

The Healing Place St. Clair is affiliated with the Church of God based in Cleveland, TN.  We believe the entire Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God.  The Healing Place has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.

What we believe:

In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.

In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.

That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.

That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Spirit.

Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.

In the baptism with the Holy Spirit subsequent to a clean heart.

In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.

In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.

In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.

In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

FAQs

Where is the church?

What is the format of your service?

We are located in Ashville, AL at 90 Sheffield Drive, 35953.
Directions: From I59 N, take exit 166 [Ashville]. Keep left onto Hwy 231 via the overpass. The church is located on your right, roughly half a mile down, just past Jack’s.
We are a modern church that believes in the authority of scripture and the need for authenticity in worship. For those reasons, our services blend both new and traditional elements to create an atmosphere of worship that strives to honor God and fit the needs of each age group. We utilize modern worship, as well as hymns. We have screens and chairs, as well as altars. Our church is both relational and real, preaching truth and offering encouragement.

What do I need to wear?

What is offered for children?

Come as you are. Our congregation varies in their attire from casual to semi-formal wear. Whether you choose to wear jeans and a t-shirt, a suit, or a dress, we are not focused on your outward appearance.
While children are always welcome to join you for worship in our auditorium, childcare is provided during each service time. Our kid’s ministry is categorized in [3] age groups: Nursery, for ages 0-3, Preschool, for ages 4-5, and THP Kids Konnection, for ages 6-12. If you have older children in grades 6-12, THP: SC Students meets every Wednesday night at 6:30pm in our Student Ministry Building.

Why do we clap our hands?

Why do we lift our hands?

Psalm 47:1 says,
“Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.”
Psalm 63:4 says,
“Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.”

Why do we give audible praise?

Why do we believe in speaking with tongues and the interpretation of those tongues?

Acts 4:24 says,
"So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: 'Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them.'"
1 Cor. 14:39 says,
“Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.”

 1 Cor. 14:27 says,
“If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret."

Why do we anoint with oil and pray for the sick?

James 5:14-15 says,
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
